“Acing you Medical School Interviews” by Alma Lopez and Micaela Torres, Medical Students In this workshop, you will learn about the different types of med-school interviews. Medical school interviews can range from group interviews, mock mini interviews (MMIs), and traditional interviews. This workshop goes over what to expect during interview day, and what you can do to prepare and be a stand-out applicant during interview day. You will also get a chance to ask any questions you may have about the process such as planning interviews, funding interview days and the do's and don'ts.
“Hands-On Workshop: Suturing”by Lizbeth Sanchez Olivera, CSULA-CCM Alumni Participants will have the opportunity to practice basic suturing techniques and gain hands-on practice. All supplies will be provided for the workshop. Enrollment is limited in order to optimize the learning experience.

Don't know how, or when to start? Come to the Post-bacc workshop to learn more about the benefits of taking a gap year AND applying to a Post-bacc. This workshop is aimed to discuss what a Post-bacc is, its benefits, and timeline application.
“How to Become a Scribe” by Rene Amel Peralta, Clinical Research Coordinator at UC Irvine Thinking about pursuing the healthcare field? Not sure what career? Consider applying as a scribe! Come learn about requirements, career opportunities, benefits, and the in and outs of scribing!
“Introduction to the MCAT”bySamantha Garcia, M.S in Global Medicine, and Ashley Villa Rangel, B.A. in Spanish and Portuguese This workshop led by current medical students at UCLA as a Q & A panel, is aimed to introduce the recently modified MCAT, discuss possible learn strategies to tackle the test, introduce the timeline for studyinging and the actual process of taking the test. Medical students will also provide their personal experiences when taking the MCAT and their personal tips. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask further questions that they might have concerning the MCAT test.
“Medical Student Panel” by Yesenia Calderon and Felipe Ocampo, Medical Students In this panel, medical students will share their journey in applying to medical school, explain some of the obstacles they faced along the way, and what their experience is like now that they are attending medical school. Ask our panelists any questions you have about the long process of medical school application, matriculation, and attendance.

This workshop aims to provide another perspective within the field of healthcare as a Registered Nurse. In this workshop, Karishma will share insights about the life of a nursing professional, career opportunities, pathway to becoming a nurse and much more.
“Post-Bacc: What If I Am Not A Strongly Competitive After Undergrad” byTiffany Calero, UCI Post-Bacc, Elizabeth Gonzalez, CSULA Post-Bacc, & Wendy Cervante, UCR Post-Bacc. Post-baccalaureate programs are used for continuing education after an undergraduate degree, and sometimes used to increase GPAs and become more competitive for graduate-level applications. This workshop will consist of current post-bacc students who continue to push themselves academically They will share great opportunities for post-graduates at different LA-area colleges. Join them to hear more about continuing education after undergraduate life.
“PRIME-LA” by Melissa Rios, Medical Student This workshop aims to introduce PRIME-LA, a 5-year dual MS/MD program offered at Geffen School of Medicine. This program, led by a third year medical student, describes what it means to be in a dual MS/MD program as well as the responsibilities, career options, and benefits.

What do you need to be a competitive applicant? In this workshop, attendees will receive a step-by-step description of what you need to apply for medical school. Specifically, this workshop delineates the timeline needed to complete the entire medical application process.

“What is Public Health?” by Diana Lazo, Masters of Public Health Student at UC Berkeley In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn more about what public health is via a video Q & A panel with current MPH students at the Berkeley, School of Public Health. The MPH Graduate Students have concentrations in either Health Policy and Management or Nutrition. The panel will begin with general questions regarding their coursework as graduate students, their concentration in their research, aspiration after masters, etc. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions as well.
“Women in Healthcare” by Dra. Consuelo Casillas Unsure about pursuing a career in medicine as a women of color? Join us at our Women in Healthcare workshop, where women of color talk about their intersectional experiences in a field that is predominantly male. La Doctora Casillas will discuss her personal experience getting where she is today, current experiences, and how she combats the persisting racism and sexism in the medical field.
